Columbia High School Athletic Renovations

Richland School District One

Completion Date

Project Budget
$1.3 Million

As part of a district-wide effort to upgrade athletic facilities, Quackenbush Architects teamed with CHA Sports to renovate the existing site competition field at Columbia High School. Comprehensive improvements elevate the experience for both athletes and visitors alike with the addition of a perimeter concourse that guides spectators from a centralized ticketing area to new home and visitor side bleachers with a 900 seat total capacity.  Other improvements to the facilities include the installation of a synthetic turf field with new sports lighting, a press box, and a new scoreboard. Concessions are available to fans beneath a covered canopy at the new 1,600SF home side support building that incorporates modern materials and a single sloped roof gesturing out in a salute to the student-athletes who take the field to represent their school.
