CCU Lib Jackson Student Union

Coastal Carolina University

Completion Date
Phase I: 2015

Project Budget
Phase I: $9.1 Million

LEED Gold

This project is a two-phase renovation and expansion of the Lib Jackson Student Union on Coastal Carolina's campus. Initial construction consisted of approximately 40,000 square feet to the west of the existing building. The project includes student organization spaces, enhanced recreation facilities, expanded food service options, and a 250 seat multi-purpose theatre. Phase 2 provides 36,000 square feet of large event and conference space, as well as additional lounge spaces and food service. A key feature of the design is the linear lobby/lounge that connects the three components into one: this internal “main street” facing Spadoni Park establishes an architectural language that integrates the new addition with the existing both functionally and visually. This project was a collaboration between Q+ and WTW Architects and is LEED® to the Gold level.
