"I believe architecture should enlighten and inspire communities, and help them achieve experiences beyond their original intentions. As designers, we should want to explore and engage with the spaces that, ultimately, our clients can equally enjoy."

Tyler is a Newberry, S.C. native and a 2019 graduate of the University of North Carolina Charlotte School for Arts + Architecture. While at UNC, he co-founded a business specializing in the design of furniture, advertising, and product and package design. During that time he also worked on the renovation of a 1950’s era single family home and focused on the framing, electrical, plumbing, and the finishing work.

“I really enjoyed how deconstructing an old home like this gives you a history of its past,” he says. “I’ve always been interested in the craftsmanship of old buildings, particularly the unused mill buildings you find here in the South.” Tyler says the Q+ team offers an opportunity for him to educate and inspire others from his Newberry community.

“The more homegrown talent you have, the more talent and impact it has on a community to foster residents’ interest in and understanding of spaces as both functional and as creative design.”
