This four-building student housing complex extends the northern boundary of the Coastal Carolina University campus, with a design tailored specifically to the underclassman population it serves. A large central green space, incorporating two pre-existing ponds and carefully preserved mature oak and maple trees, anchors the community, with site amenities including an activity pavilion and a sand volleyball court. The exterior extends CCU’s traditional Georgian style through red masonry, white trim and columns, and matching roof shingles. Designed in collaboration with Mackey Mitchell Architects.

Tradition Hall, Chanticleer Hall, Teal Hall, and Singleton-Young Hall together accommodate 1,270 students in communities of 36 to 40 beds per resident assistant. Each RA community includes four “community suites” grouped around a common social space. Individual buildings feature lounges, laundry facilities, multipurpose rooms, and RD apartments. Tradition Hall adds a Residential Life office suite, a conference room, a convenience store, and a kitchen. The project has achieved LEED Silver certification.
