Located in the heart of the University of South Carolina campus, this facility works alongside Thomson Hall to redefine student health services as a comprehensive wellness destination rather than a clinic. The building promotes healthy living as a daily habit, drawing students in not only to be treated for illness but to learn about nutrition, sexual health, stress management, and other aspects of modern campus wellness.
The 68,000-square-foot, LEED Gold-certified facility accommodates clinics for general medicine, women’s care, sports medicine/orthopedics, and allergy/immunization/travel, along with radiography, counseling, nutrition consulting, psychiatric services, and a retail pharmacy. Mental health services are conveniently located in an adjacent repurposed building that operates in conjunction with the new center. The design is a collaboration between Quackenbush Architects + Planners and Perkins&Will.
