This new elementary school in Bluffton will serve 800 students and help accommodate growth in the Beaufort County School District.  The 105,000 square foot school is organized around a central corridor connecting the community spaces to three two-story classroom wings.  Each learning pod includes a central extended learning space to support collaboration and small group learning in a secure environment.

The exterior is inspired by low-country South Carolina architecture, featuring sloped roofs, masonry and board and batten siding.  The existing wetlands on the site will be preserved and safeguarded, along with tree buffers adjacent to the neighboring residential community. Located adjacent to May River High School, the campus is master planned for a future middle school.  The school is projected to be the first ICF (Insulated Concrete Forms) public school constructed in South Carolina.
